Third success for Alba and Bavaria

Berlin (AP) – German champions Alba Berlin and co-favorite FC Bayern Munich remain undefeated in the basketball Bundesliga in the third game.

The defending champion from the capital won against Telekom Baskets Bonn on Sunday with a clear 97:74 (48:38). The Munich team defeated the MHP giant Ludwigsburg in the top game with 93:70 (38:38). In the table, ratiopharm Ulm leads thanks to the better basket ratio ahead of FC Bayern and Alba with 6: 0 points each.

As in the previous league games, the Munich team had some difficulties at the beginning against the previously undefeated Ludwigsburg and sometimes ran after a ten-point deficit. But after the break, the Munich team were much more effective and more accurate than the guests and made the preliminary decision with a 15-0 run. Bayern playmaker Wade Baldwin convinced with 21 points.

Two days after the Euroleague defeat against Zenit St. Petersburg (66:73), Alba Berlin also needed ten minutes against Bonn to get going. After the 25:25 in the first quarter, the hosts dominated the rest of the game and easily expanded the ten-point lead after the break. National player Niels Giffey scored the best with 17 points for Alba.

The Hamburg Towers are still unbeaten. In the second game of the season, coach Pedro Calles’ team won at s.Oliver Würzburg with 90:61 (46:31). medi Bayreuth defeated Syntainics MBC Weißenfels 99:81 (48:43) and scored the second success in the third match.
