The Association of Basketball Clubs analyzed the possibility of suspending the relegations for the return of the National Basketball League (LNB), after the cases of coronavirus detected in the different delegations and in the referees.
All managers commented on the possibility of canceling the only relegation to the Argentine League, especially since the second category is subject to vaccination against the coronavirus, as explained by the president of the Club Association, Gerardo Montenegro, in TyC Sports.
“Playing with a relegation scheme this season is not fair. The other categories would not return until the vaccine is out,” said the Santiago coach.
In addition to the removal from relegation, other changes will happen because the matches will be rescheduled and points will not be awarded, as was done with the suspension of Gymnastics and Fencing by Comodoro Rivadavia against Ferro and Argentino de Junín against Platense, in the that the first two were subject to the Disciplinary Court after having several infections.
Likewise, beyond the initial idea of eliminating the bubble, there will be no modification and the headquarters will continue to be the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires although other issues will be changed such as the responsibility of each delegation regarding the care of its members in the concentrations.
The teams will stay in the hotels they choose and not those established by the AdC, as happened in the last stage.
However, the medical discharge will depend directly on the medical staff of the Club Association and it was agreed that each delegation has its own transportation to go to the stadium and to training sessions.
Finally, the tentative date will be the first week of December but the second phase has not yet been established, according to Telam.
