The hook volley with spin, Nadal’s latest invention

He did it this Monday in a training session between games of the ATP Finals that disputes these days in the 02 of London.

He responded to a high ball with a medium back volley with spin, what on Tennis TV social networks have called a ‘skyhook’, translated would be something like a hook in the air, since the word is used sportively in basketball with hooks. And indeed the gesture has some similarity to a hook.

Even his opponent blurted out an ‘Oh!’ of admiration at the beating of Nadal.
