Pat Riley and the Heat would have been wrong to deprive themselves. Before the start of the season, they could or could not retain Duncan Robinson and Kendrick Nunn by guaranteeing their contracts for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.
They obviously did, assure ESPN, both players having been invaluable in the Miami course in the regular season and in the “bubble”.
The two 2020 finalists will receive almost 1.7 million dollars each for this season (1.66 exactly) and will be “free agents” protected next summer. The Heat will therefore be able to align with external offers.
Real revelation last season, Duncan Robinson compiled 13.5 points per game with 44% success at 3-pts. His 270 award-winning baskets and his precision put him directly among the best shooters in the league, him who was unknown even a year ago, and make him one of the most interesting quality / price ratios in the NBA.
For Kendrick Nunn, however, his first season was more eventful. The rookie started in the regular season, showing great offensive qualities with an average of 15.3 points. But the suspension of the season and the result in the “bubble” shattered this dynamic. Affected by the Covid, the rear never found its sensations at Disney World. He became a substitute and was removed from the rotation in the playoffs.
