The act of four Real Madrid defenders has brought blessings to Valencia: the ball is okay

VALENCIA – Real Madrid swallowed the bitter pill in Week 9 of the Spanish League 2020-2021. Los Blancos – the nickname of Madrid – lost 1-4 to Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium, Monday (9/11/2020), early morning WIB.

The defeat was quite painful for Madrid because of the errors made by the four Los Blancos defenders. Madrid’s defense in that match was filled with Lucas Vazquez, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo Vieira.

The early games went well for Madrid. Karim Benzema was even able to bring Madrid ahead in the 23rd minute. Valencia goalkeeper Jaume Domenech could not anticipate a long distance shot from Benzema.

However, after that, things changed for Madrid. Disaster for Madrid began with Vazquez’s handsball in the 29th minute. Lucas Soler, who became the executioner, failed to finish his job from the spot. The ball vomited and was greeted by Yunus Musah as a goal.

However, the referee decided to repeat the penalty because Musah entered the penalty box before Soler kicked the ball. Soler also scored from the spot on this second chance. The position drew 1-1 in the 35th minute.

With two minutes remaining, Varane scored an own goal. Varane’s effort to block Maxi Gomez’s cross led to goals for Valencia. Madrid were behind 1-2 when the first half ended.

Madrid slumped further in the second half after Valencia received a second penalty in the 52nd minute. Valencia got a penalty after Marcelo violated Gomez in the forbidden box. Soler, who returned to being the executioner, accomplished his job well.

Madrid’s hopes of equalizing were getting smaller when Ramos did a handsball in the 61st minute. Soler also recorded a hanttrick from the spot in the 63rd minute. Madrid, which dominated possession, finally lost 1-4.

Madrid coach, Zinedine Zidane, also admitted that his team’s defense was very fragile in the match against Valencia. According to the French tactician, Madrid could not find balance in the game if the defense was still fragile.

“We know we have to be tougher in defense. Always like that. If we are tougher and can strike a balance, we know that in the attack line we have players who can make the difference, “said Zidane, adapting from Madrid’s official website, Monday (9/11/2020).
