Standard player Amallah succeeds teammate Carcela as “Lion Belge” | Jupiler Pro League

Selim Amallah has been named laureate of the Lion Belge, the “Belgian Lion”. That is an award for the best football player of Maghrebi descent in the Jupiler Pro League.

The 24-year-old Moroccan Belgian succeeds teammate Mehdi Carcela as the 11th winner on the honors list. He was nominated again, just like Nacer Chadli (ex-Anderlecht), Faiz Selemani (Kortrijk), Sami Allagui (ex-Mouscron), Idriss Saadi (ex-Cercle Bruges) and Samy Mmaee (STVV).

The award for best player (Lionne Belge) went to Sakina Ouzraoui (Anderlecht). There were also awards for Karim Belhocine (Charleroi, best coach), Loïs Openda (ex-Club Brugge, best promise), Marouane Fellaini (Shandong Luneng, best Belgian abroad) and Romar Rahou (futsal).
