Spencer Dinwiddie could move to the Western Conference

While the expectation grows around the Brooklyn Nets to see Spencer Dinwiddie’s connection on the court with the pair that will make up Irving and Durant, there is also the possibility that Dinwiddie will leave the team via transfer this offseason; and is that according to Ian Begley of CUT, numerous Western Conference contenders are interested in the Nets point guard.

While he did not participate in the short appearance of the Nets in the Orlando bubble playoffs; At 27, he comes off the best campaign of his career. He had 20.6 points, 6.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game last season. He has steadily improved his production every year since he came to the NBA.

Now, the team that Steve Nash will lead must make important decisions for the next few years. Dinwiddie, who has a player option of 12.3 million for the 2021-22 season, could make more money down the road than the Nets could theoretically pay him. They already have two superstars like Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving locked up on long-term contracts. Added to that they want to renew Joe Harris, whom rumors point to as their main priority.

Dinwiddie and the Nets agreed to a three-year, 34 million extension in December 2018. The player has recently parted ways with Roc Nation, the agency that represented him, with the idea of doing it on his own account. These revolutionary plans do not escape the base, who already last season tried to turn his contract into a digital investment for his followers; which took him an extensive negotiation process with the NBA until it finally accepted his idea.
