Estrela da Amadora can play in the Portuguese Championship, next season, after merging with Sintra Football and taking its place in the third step. The news had, moreover, been advanced by the Morefootball.
At this point, what is news is that those responsible for this project have already created and registered the new SAD, which is based in the parish of Queluz e Belas, municipality of Sintra, with the name Club Sintra Football – Estrela SAD.
SAD, which will later be called Club Football Estrela da Amadora (if the members of the Amadora club so approve this new SAD), was created with a share capital of 250 thousand euros.
Remember that on the table is a project driven by Paulo Lopo, current administrator and holder of the majority of the capital of SAD do Leixões, which has a connection to the club and Amadora, the city where he grew up.
Although in theory it is a merger, the objective in the short-medium term is to incorporate Sintra Football, which does not have its own stadium and is experiencing financial difficulties, in the new Estrela da Amadora.
André Geraldes, ex-team manager of Sporting and ex-CEO of Farense, is the name chosen to preside over the future SAD of Estrela and Jorge Jesus will be invited as ambassador. The team will start playing at José Gomes Stadium, in Amadora.
