Simon Mignolet leaves the Red Devils for “well-deserved rest” | Red Devils

Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is no longer on the bench with the Red Devils against Denmark. The capstone of Club Brugge can recharge the batteries for the Belgian competition.

Simon Mignolet’s job with the national team is over: he was under the bar in the practice match against Switzerland and was on the bench against England as a double for Thibaut Courtois.

But due to the packed football calendar, Mignolet leaves the Red Devils for the last game against Denmark. He will get “well-deserved rest”, as Club Brugge will play against Kortrijk again this weekend and Borussia Dortmund will be waiting in the Champions League next week.

National coach Roberto Martinez has alternatives for Courtois with Koen Casteels (Wolfsburg) and Gaëtan Coucke (KV Mechelen).
