Serial injuries at PSG: for Gueye and Kehrer, it’s serious

In the aftermath of the success against Rennes (3-0) and at the dawn of the international break, PSG is counting its troops. Two new players have therefore joined the already full infirmary on Saturday evening: Gueye and Kehrer. This Sunday, the club delivered a medical statement to give their news.

Idrissa Gueye suffers from a “lesion of the left hamstrings on the biceps femoris”. Thilo Kehrer, him, is the victim of a suffering of the adductors within the framework of a pubalgia. Its unavailability “will be discussed depending on the treatment chosen”.

The two were to join their respective selections: Senegal to face Guinea-Bissau on Wednesday and Sunday, Germany to play against the Czech Republic on Wednesday, Ukraine on the 14th and Spain on the 17th. They are therefore heading towards a flat rate.

Reassuring news for Florenzi and Kean

As for Florenzi and Kean, both left during the match against Rennes, they should be able to join Italy (matches scheduled against Estonia on November 11) then Poland on 15 and 18). Florenzi had been replaced at the break “as a precaution” due to muscle fatigue. Kean was released at the end of the match after suffering “a contusion on the right knee requiring a few days of rest and appropriate care”.

Verratti (thigh) and Icardi (knee) will continue their preparation at the Camp des Loges. They will resume individual and group training during the week. Neymar and Mbappé, also injured in a thigh and that Thomas Tuchel hoped to keep, were finally called up by Brazil and the Blues. “Kylian Mbappé, whose development is as expected, will continue his individual care and training with the France team, in close collaboration with the medical staff of PSG”, indicates the Parisian club. Ditto for Neymar with the Seleção.

Kimpembe “will resume training with the France team”

For his part, Presnel Kimpembe, victim of a blow against Leipzig and forfeit against Rennes, “will resume training with the France team in the coming days depending on the evolution of the contusion of the right foot, in close collaboration with the staff medical treatment of the PSG ”.

Navas (Costa Rica) as well as Paredes and Di Maria (Argentina) were also called. For the latter, who overtook Safet Susic to become the only 8th top scorer in the history of PSG thanks to his double against Rennes, this call is the first since the summer of 2019.

Pablo Sarabia was spared against Rennes “for muscle pain and injury prevention”. The club had recently indicated that Julian Draxler was continuing his rehabilitation work and would resume completion after the international break. Finally, Juan Bernat “continues his rehabilitation a little over a month after his knee operation”.
