Rugby: Argentina stands up to Australia but loses Imhoff

Bad news for the Sky and White. Those of Racing 92 like those of Argentinian Pumas. The Ile-de-France winger Juan Imhoff was indeed injured in Argentina’s draw against Australia (15-15) in Newcastle, New South Wales this Saturday as part of the Rugby Championship. The 32-year-old was hit in the left thigh and came out after a quarter of an hour of play, giving way to Emiliano Boffelli. Juan Imhoff followed the rest of the first period on the bench with an ice pack around his sore thigh.

His team, carried by Nicolas Sanchez, the opener of the Stade Français, impeccable in his role of scorer (5 penalties), almost achieved a new sensation. Especially since the Australians saved a try on their line at the last second. A week after the incredible success, the first in their history, against the All Blacks (25-15), the Pumas confirmed their current form despite a year without competition. Here they are tied with New Zealand and Australia in the standings but with one game less. The next meeting against New Zealand, next Saturday, will be decisive. A match without Juan Imhoff, a priori.
