Riga’s “Dinamo” stops a series of 14 losses

Riga’s Dynamo beat Beijing’s Red Star by 5: 3 (1: 2, 3: 1, 1: 0).

Zirjanovs scored two goals for the Rigans, Lauris Dārziņš, Jordan Murejs and Miks Indrašis scored one goal each.

At the end of the 39th minute, after Dārziņš and Roberts Mamčičs passed, Indrašis scored his first goal of the season, using Alexei Toropchenko’s carefree and irresponsibility in front of his goal and hitting the puck into the goal. A minute and four seconds later, after the passes of Rīss Skārletas and Kristaps Zīle, Zirjanovs stood out with a solo move on the right side, beating the goalkeeper Dmitry Shikin for the fourth time – 4: 3.

It is significant that on Wednesday “Dinamo” team was joined by two strikers who have played Beijing “Kuunluņ Red Star” this season – Gļebs Zirjanovs and Latvian hockey player Gunārs Skvorcovs, who has already spent “Dinamo” seven seasons before. Richard Bukart is also at the club’s disposal.

In total, the teams have met eight times in the KHL championship, of which the Rigans have won three times. Last season, each team was successful in two games.

After this match, “Dinamo” will go on a three-game trip, where they will meet with Moscow “Dinamo”, Yarsolavla “Lokomotiv” and “Kunluun Red Star” units. The duel with the Pekingese will not take place in the Chinese capital, but in Mithishchi.

Last season, “Dinamo” took the penultimate place in the Western Conference and in the entire league, not qualifying for the Gagarin Cup for the sixth year in a row.
