Prosecutor defends the behavior of the dance floor

In the footage, Mr de Belin wears a wide-brimmed fedora and his accuser can be seen taking off his hat and putting it on her own head before continuing to dance.

“May I suggest that at about the same time, which was pretty good midnight, you also look very lovingly into his eyes,” Mr. Campbell told her.

She replied, “I don’t remember, it was two years ago. I danced, I had fun, I was a 19-year-old girl. I can go out and dance.”

After viewing the footage, Mr. Campbell said again, “You certainly like to look in Mr. De Belin’s direction,” to which she replied, “I’m smiling, I can’t see if my eyes are open or not.”

During the Crown’s inaugural address earlier this week, the court heard that the woman had left the club with Mr de Belin, 29, and Mr Sinclair, 23, a Shellharbour Sharks rugby player, thinking they were going to another club go. Instead, she claims that she was taken by tuktuk to Mr de Belin’s home, where the two men took turns to rape her repeatedly.

The two footballers have not pleaded guilty to five counts of serious sexual assault. Her lawyers said the encounter with the woman was completely consensual.

On Friday, the woman was also asked about the details of conversations she had had with colleagues over the following days about the night in question. However, she couldn’t remember what she said and repeatedly told the court, “It was two years ago.”

At one point during the interview, the woman became upset and asked for a five-minute break.

“All that matters is what happened in that unit,” she said.
