Philipsen wins the sprint in Puebla de Sanabria

The young Belgian cyclist Jasper Philipsen (UAE Emirates) won the sprint on Thursday in the fifteenth stage of the Vuelta a España, the longest of the test, with 230 kilometers, between Mos and Puebla de Sanabria.

The leader’s red ‘jersey’ is still held by the Slovenian Primoz Roglic, three days after the arrival in Madrid, after this transitional stage in which Philipsen, 22, preceded the German Pascal Ackermann in the sprint on a false flat .

The general did not undergo changes. The favorites were dedicated to resist in a survival stage. Primoz Roglic maintained the distance of 39 seconds with Richard Carapaz, 47 with Hugh Carthy, 1.42 with respect to Dan Martin and 3.23 with Enric Mas.

This Friday the peloton faces the sixteenth stage, between Salamanca and Ciudad Rodrigo, of 162 kilometers.
