Former Brisbane Broncos coach Anthony Seibold’s return to coaching in the NRL has reportedly collapsed at the final hurdle.
According to Courier Mail, Seibold was in talks to take on a role as assistant coach at the Newcastle Knights alongside Adam O’Brien.
But now the knight hierarchy has apparently coldly got the idea and is expected to decline the move following the way Seibold left the Broncos.

Seibold worked with O’Brien on the Melbourne Storm and they both share an agent, Isaac Moses, with the Knights, who are eager to strengthen their coaching staff after leaving the first week finals this season.
Seibold was therefore seen as the perfect match, but the move has now apparently failed.
The former Broncos head coach has been silent since leaving Brisbane with a $ 1.5m payout and has returned to Sydney to rejoin the NRL, though that now doesn’t appear to be with the Knights.
