Ajax, Schlieper and Tagliafico are looking for a suitable moment to sign the new contract next week. One of the agreements between Tagliafico and Ajax is that the defender will finish the season in Amsterdam anyway. Then he can pursue his dream of playing in a top competition for an undisclosed amount.
Last summer, the set asking price was around twenty million euros, but partly because of the corona crisis, no club came by for which Tagliafico wanted to leave Ajax. The Argentinian, who is adored by the Amsterdam fans because of his fighting spirit, has played 110 duels for Ajax since January 2018, in which he scored 16 times. It cost four million euros.
