Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would like to keep Timothy Fosu-Mensah as he nears the last seven months of his contract.
The MEN know that United has offered right-back Fosu-Mensah a new deal despite having started four games for the club in three and a half years.
Various clubs have expressed an interest in Fosu-Mensah, 22, and he is free to negotiate a preliminary contract with foreign clubs in January before leaving at the end of the season. However, Solskjaer has told the Dutch international to stay.
United sparked Fosu-Mensah’s contract for a year last season as they wanted to retain its value due to Fosu-Mensah’s positive reputation overseas. Fosu-Mensah changed agents earlier this year and was appointed to Frank de Boer’s Dutch provisional squad in September.
Solskjaer will hold a press conference today ahead of United’s Premier League game against Southampton on Sunday.
