MotoGP: Rossi tests negative and will be able to race in Valencia

Valentino Rossi will already be able to contest the European GP, which takes place this weekend in Valencia, after having tested negative for coronavirus this Thursday.

The Italian, who missed the last two races due to Covid-19, had tested positive again on Tuesday. “According to Italian law, the Yamaha rider can end isolation and take part in social life again,” Yamaha said in a statement.

“Rossi will have the opportunity to travel to Valencia. On Friday he will undergo a second PCR test and if the result is negative again, he will be able to be with the Yamaha MotoGP team and take part this weekend in the European GP”, added the Japanese team.

If Rossi couldn’t compete, his spot would go to 25-year-old American Garrett Gerloff.
