Manchester United was made aware of Sami Khedira’s desire to play in the Premier League, which he has described as a “really big dream”.
The German could be on the lookout for a move in the new year when his Juventus contract expires.
Andrea Pirlo has decided against giving him an early release from his contract, but the 33-year-old has yet to appear during this term.
Khedira has an impressive résumé and is a born winner who won the 2014 World Cup and played trophies in Italy and Spain.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has shown a willingness to sign veterans to help level his young squad.

Edinson Cavani was a summer arrival and Khedira was able to follow suit as he seeks a shot at the English top class.
He told Sky Germany: “When I was a kid, it was always a big dream of mine to be a Premier League player.
“I am very happy and satisfied with my career so far, but one thing is still missing because I always had this dream and it never came true… to be part of the Premier League.
“I’ve seen so many Premier League games since I was young and I still follow the Premier League a lot.
“I always like to play in the Champions League against English clubs. The atmosphere, the style and the idea of football have always impressed me.
“If possible, a really big dream will certainly come true and an honor to be part of the Premier League.”
However, during his time at Real Madrid, the German worked under Jose Mourinho and Carlo Ancelotti.
Both managers are now in the Premier League and he has spoken ardently about the duo.

Khedira added: “Because of his (Mourinho’s) personality. He’s always straightforward, honest, clear-headed and a great coach.
“A lot of people talk about he’s too defensive, but he’s a winner, he’s a champion. That’s why he impressed me the most.
“I really enjoyed working with Mourinho, but there are a lot of coaches I would like to work with.
“Ancelotti is doing a great job right now and is a great personality. He’s one of the coaches who also impressed me. “
