Titmuss was among the players who returned for the preseason’s first day of training on Monday and reportedly showed no signs of illness at the end of the fitness session.

It is reported that he felt sick when the team finished training with a series of stretches and alerted staff that he was suffering from severe cramps and fatigue.

More tragic details surfaced Monday with reports that Titmuss broke down shortly after feeling uncomfortable.

“He ended the session well. After that, they did some stretches and he had some pretty severe cramps, ”reporter Adam Pengilly told Sky Sports Radio.

“And then shortly after he collapsed. Then she quickly dispatched an ambulance to Narrabeen.

“That’s the weird thing for me, after he left Narrabeen, he regained consciousness and was clear to a certain extent. And unfortunately the situation worsened pretty quickly when he got to the hospital. And it’s just a tragic, tragic story. “

He said the cause of death was still unknown.

“Basically, nobody knows why that is. I spoke to a few people yesterday and basically Manly did a non-contact conditioning session yesterday, a fitness session that lasted about 90 minutes to two hours.

“A lot more will come to light in the days and months ahead.”

Titmuss’ death shocked the NRL. Manly players were called for a meeting Monday afternoon to be informed of the tragic news.

Channel 9 reporter Danny Weidler also told the story The big sports breakfast The cause of death is unknown.

“I’m not sure what happened, nobody is doing it right now,” he said.

“But in the future it will be difficult for everyone to deal with, and it will be difficult for the team environment, but more importantly, for the family.”

Titmuss was a member of Manly’s roster for the 2021 season but hadn’t made his NRL debut yet. He was named a Player of the Jersey Flegg Cup Club in 2019.

Manly described Titmuss as “a very promising young striker who came through the Sea Eagles junior rep teams as a teenager”.

He was first signed to the club when he was 14 and was a popular figure in his six years as he went through the development program.

“We are all devastated by this news,” said Manly coach Des Hasler.

“Keith was a very popular character in the playgroup. He is sorely missed, but never forgotten by the sea eagles. “

Stephen Humphreys, executive director of the club, said the Sea Eagles were unaware of the underlying diseases.

He said The Sydney Morning Herald: “We also have no answers about what happened.

“I wasn’t there when it happened, but I’m on my way to the hospital. It’s there now, so we could find out more then.”

In a club statement, he said: “Our club extends its deepest condolences to Keith’s family and friends and will give them the support they need during this difficult time.

“We are working with the NRL wellbeing team to provide support and advice to our playgroup and staff.”

The NRL has confirmed that the game will do its best to support the Titmuss family.

“The game has lost a promising young player with the world at his feet,” said NRL chief Andrew Abdo in a statement.

“Keith made it into the Manly top 30 for the 2021 season after reaching the club’s juniors.

“We will make sure that Keith’s family, the club and our players have all the support they need from the game.

“We are a family and today we lost a member of that family. On behalf of the Commission and the Game, I would like to express my deepest condolences to Keith’s family. “
