With Virgil van Dijk and now Joe Gomez expected to be on sideline for several months, Liverpool will be heavily associated with several new options for the center-back in the January transfer window.

A report from Athletic suggested that RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano was “high on their wanted list” but with the Reds believing they use computational analysis to recruit players themselves, a new artificial intelligence tool has found three “more suitable” potential recruits for the reigning Premier League champions.

Speaking to The Times, Ram Mylvaganam, the inventor of Prozone, who revolutionized player recruitment, said Ai Abacus, a new artificial intelligence tool that uses analytics to predict future outcomes, has outlined three goals that are more appropriate .

The article states:

While the processes are undoubtedly complicated, the metrics that prove to be most important are aptitude and chemistry, and it is believed that Upamecano “would have good chemistry with Klopp’s existing players, but modest aptitude, tactics, and systems engineering”.

Instead, Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen is the ideal candidate, with alternatives from Caglar Soyuncu from Leicester and Jules Kounde from Seville.
