LFF interrupts amateur and youth competitions

The Board of the Latvian Football Federation (LFF), after hearing the views of the LFF Competition Committee and the LFF Development and Youth Committee, as well as after evaluating the opportunities to play in the current epidemiological conditions, has decided to close the Latvian First, Second and Third League Championships, Premier League Doubles Championship championship, reports LFF.

“What is happening outside the football fields dictates what is happening and will happen on the green fields in the near future. We are forced to close the amateur and youth competitions with great bitterness, because we understand that after the extension of the existing restrictions, the calendar possibilities to continue the games are almost completely exhausted, ”says LFF President Vadim Lashenko. “Currently, each of us must pay the utmost attention to the health and safety of those around us and ourselves, so that we can expect the 2021 season in more stable and predictable conditions. There is no alternative but to continue to oppose the virus with all our caution, responsibility and compliance. That is the key to victory in this battle we are all on. ”
