Leandro Verón: “In this preseason we incorporate the gym and video analysis for children and adults”

The president of the Juninense Association and Junín Tennis coordinator, Leandro Verón, spoke with LA DEPORTIVA about planning the preseason for children and adults that will begin on December 7.

In addition to the physical exercises, fundamentals and work on the court, this year they will add training in their own gym, Wellness, and the novelty of filming the practices on the court, to observe and correct details in the technical movements of all the players.

THE TRAININGS

“The activity works, we are every day from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. waiting if the schedule is extended. There are a lot of people in all clubs playing tennis, I think it has to do with the outdoors and not all disciplines are working 100 percent. After 4 months without working, we are in a good moment. They have come from other sports to play tennis and have joined. Little by little we intensified the practices, the exercises and we are days away from starting the preseason.

THE PRE-SEASON

It is a moment that teachers look forward to a lot. We always start a little later for classes, but since the boys are more liberated, we are going to start on December 7th. It will be three months to give him everything, waiting for the national competitions to return in February. The objective is to find and raise the level of the players in the city and the area who come to train at Tenis Junín.

FURTHER IMPROVE

The preseason is for all ages, boys and adults. There are already many who have joined the physical part in addition to the field work. We have a large seedbed of boys from 7 to 8 years old who are on, motivated, many who have started and there is the 12 to 14 year old group that is the high level of competition, they do double shifts. At this moment is when we squeeze them to the fullest and this work is the one that shows the rest of the year. Today we have the possibility of incorporating the gym part with Wellness and another novelty is that we are going to work with videos to test all the players in December to see the blows, the movements, and use the tool that is the video so that they can see and correct a lot of details that can be missed on a day-to-day basis. We will be doing it again in January and February to keep track of each.

EXPECTATIONS

It has happened to many sports. The boys had been playing at a high level, most of them had a very good tournament at the G3 in Junín and some played the G2 in Pinamar in February. They were at a high level and today that seems very far away, they doubt sometimes but they went from training 4 hours a day to a reduced schedule of 50 minutes three times a week. It takes longer with this amount of workouts to pick up the pace again.

TOURNAMENTS

The Argentine Tennis Association has already communicated that as of November 23, there is the authorization to hold tournaments in the country, including professionals, women and men. We will have to see how everything develops for our city because people ask you for tournaments and to be able to play doubles, in many clubs by tradition it has always been played in that modality and they ask for it. The tournament is a way of seeing how the player is, not only for the players, but also for the teachers, we need the championships to have objectives. The tennis protocols are very simple and it is the same in training or match by tournament. We are talking with teachers in the area and with the Buenos Aires Western Tennis Association (ATOBA) to enable local championships, starting in each city, we have been asking for it.
