LA Clippers grab Serge Ibaka of the Toronto Raptors

The LA Clippers are about to sign Serge Ibaka. The Big Man will leave the Toronto Raptors with it.

According to information from Adrian Wojnarowski (ESPN) earn around $ 19 million over two years. However, the naturalized Spaniard has a player option for the second year of his contract.

Ibaka is likely to take on the role of Montrezl Harrell. The reigning Sixth Man of the Year had left the Clippers on the first day of the Free Agency and preferred to sign with rival Los Angeles Lakers.

Ibaka played for the Raptors for over three years and won his only championship alongside Kawhi Leonard in Toronto in 2019. In LA, “Air Congo” will again play alongside the star forward.

The 30-year-old had a strong season in Canada, averaging 15.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 0.8 blocks per game. What Ibaka’s exact role will be in California is still unclear. Ibaka could start on the five, but also be used as a forward next to center Ivica Zubac. It is also possible that Ibaka, as is usually the case in Toronto, comes from the bank.
