Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson was released from the English squad and returned to the club for further assessment.
The midfielder was withdrawn halfway through the Three Lions clash with Belgium on Sunday night after feeling “a bit tense” according to Gareth Southgate.
On Monday evening, the football association confirmed that Henderson will therefore suspend the UEFA Nations League meeting with Iceland on Wednesday.
Liverpool are back in action on Sunday as Leicester City make their appearance in the Premier League.
