Hirt after the end of CCC will ride for the Belgian team Circus-Wanty Gobert

Cyclist Jan Hirt has signed a two-year contract with the Belgian stable Circus-Wanty Gobert, which will move to WorldTour next season instead of his current CCC team. The Polish team, whose jersey is currently being worn by the Czech rider at the Vuelta, will end due to lack of funds.

Currently, the Circus-Wanty Gobert continental team has agreed with the CCC in September to take over its license. He has now announced that he is also hiring some existing CCC riders. The Germans Jonas Koch and Georg Zimmermann will also move to the Belgian stable with Hirt.

“I am very pleased to have the opportunity to join this growing project. This season has been quite complicated and I can’t wait to be a member of this established Belgian team,” said Hirt on the Circus-Wanty Gobert website, whose jersey is worn by Jan Bakelants or Danny van Poppel.

After the time trial, Roglič again replaced Carapaze at the head of the Vuelta

“I’m looking forward to meeting new people and I hope to do well again next year to get some good results and help the team. My big goal will be the Grand Tour, whatever it is. I’m dreaming of a stage victory and I believe that it will work out one day, “said the 29-year-old Hirt, who is riding his sixth Grand Tour. So far, the best one was his first – at the Giro d’Italia in 2017, he took 12th place overall.

Czech cyclist Jan Hirt (front) also rode behind the Astana stable.

Josef Černý, the second Czech driver in the CCC colors, who will have a stage victory at the Giro d’Italia in October, will also have a new employer from next season.
