Health – Munich – Schulze: Debate about recreational sport in Corona times necessary – Bavaria

Munich (dpa / lby) – After the general ban on recreational sports in the hall in Bavaria that was imposed overnight, the Greens parliamentary group in the state parliament called for a general debate on recreational sports during Corona times. “Personally, I think we have to talk again about how we can still enable citizens to do their sport from a health perspective,” said Katharina Schulze, leader of the Greens, in an interview with Bayerischer Rundfunk (Bayern 2 ).

The state government had issued a ban on all indoor sports that were previously allowed on Thursday evening. This includes tennis and badminton, for example. The background to this is a decision by the Bavarian Administrative Court, which upheld the action brought by a fitness studio operator. The operator had insisted on equal treatment.

In November everyone is called upon to avoid corona infections. “We all have to work on that together.” But then you have to think about how sport can be possible again. So I’m looking forward to the further debate in the Bavarian state parliament, “said Schulze.
