Zelona Gura’s “Stelmet”, represented by Freimanis and Jānis Bērziņš, defeated Minsk’s “Cmoki” in their field with the result 87:75 (24:13, 24:28, 16:11, 25:23), represented by Klāvs Čavars and Toms Leimanis, and the coach Edmunds Valeiko works in the team.
Freimanis spent 21 minutes and 54 seconds on the court, during which four of the six two-point shots and three of the five long shots were broadcast in the basket. He also scored two rebounds, made one mistake, made three remarks, provoked three fouls and scored six efficiency points.
Bērziņš was not registered for this game yet.
Leimanis played for seven minutes and two seconds, during which time he made one of two two-point shots, but did not hit both “threes”. He also managed to beat two balls under the baskets, pass three times, make one mistake and score three efficiency points.
Chavars, on the other hand, played for 20 minutes and 56 seconds, during which he sent one of the two “penalties” to the basket, but did not take all three two-point shots. He also defeated four rebounds, made three errors, blocked two shots, violated the rules once and provoked three remarks, leaving the efficiency score at zero.
The CSKA of Moscow, represented by Sagittarius, defeated Krasnoyarsk “Yenisei” in its square with the result 109: 60 (24:12, 31:22, 20:13, 34:13).
The archer played for 17 minutes and 44 seconds, broadcasting both two-point shots and both long shots in the basket. He also won one rebound, scored three times, made one mistake, blocked one throw, broke three times and scored 14 efficiency points.
On the other hand, “Astana”, represented by Mārtiņš Meiers and Ojārs Siliņš, suffered a heavy defeat, who admitted the superiority of “Zenit” in St. Petersburg with 52:85 (14:27, 13:11, 6:23, 19:24).
Meiers scored eight points in 19 minutes and 40 seconds on the court, taking two of the six two-point shots and all four free throws. He also has three rebounds, one assists, two errors, one intercepted ball, one blocked throw, five notes and an equally provoked foul, as well as eight efficiency points.
In seven minutes and 39 seconds, Siliņš made one inaccurate long shot, won one rebound, intercepted one ball, violated the rules once and reached one efficiency point.
Of the Latvian teams playing on Sunday, the highest in the tournament table is CSKA, which is fourth with four wins in five games. Cmoki is ninth with three wins in three games, while Astana and Stelmet are in tenth and 11th place with five successes in five battles.
As in the previous season, 13 teams will start in this regular tournament – nine from Russia, as well as one unit each from Estonia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Poland. The “VEF Rīga” team is not participating in the tournament for the second season in a row.
The 2019/2020 league season ended prematurely due to a pandemic caused by the coronavirus, without finding out the champion. At the time of the termination of the championship, the first place was taken by the “Khimki” of the Moscow region, but the second place was taken by the Moscow CSKA.
