On the eve of France-Finland at the Stade de France, the first of three games in November, the coach of the Blues returned, virtually, to the media to sweep again the news of the France team.
On what criteria did you decide to summon Kurt Zouma?
DIDIER DESCHAMPS. In attendance, he has a lot of selections but little playing time. I find him more efficient than others at his post. For a long time, he found all his athletic potential and serenity. Kurt will have playing time in all three games.

Why did you take the Monegasque Ruben Aguilar?
We were already following him when he was in Montpellier. And three or four. I did not take it by default. He has a lot of energy and the ability to go back and forth.
Will Steve Mandanda play against Finland?
Yes. He came very often. He must have the attendance record but has a lot less selections! His experience is enormous. I know his role as an executive and a leader. He had a tough time but made the right choices to extend his career. It is up to him to maintain his level. He is unaffected by events and stays positive to pull others up.
What are you waiting for against Finland?
I don’t know which team will play for the Finns. She is qualified for the Euro and in a position to qualify for the League of Nations. It remains on good results. During his last friendly, there were few starters. But now, I think it’s an important game for them.
How do you prepare for a match in just two days and why is it a useful match?
I will not take any risks with the players. This friendly match, I see it on a positive side to distribute the playing time, over three matches, between all the players or almost all. Otherwise, five or six players will not be in training on Tuesday and not available for tomorrow.
Will Marcus Thuram and Ruben Aguilar start on Wednesday?

Have you spoken to Marcus Thuram. How do you see his personality?
I spoke with Marcus. His father does not overshadow him and he is used to it. When we are ” son of », It keeps coming back. He is comfortable and relaxed. He knows most of the players.
