For the sake of 1-2 positions in MotoGP 2020, Suzuki is ready to run a team order for Rins: Okezone Sports

PORTIMAO – The Suzuki Ecstar Team racer, Alex Rins, has revealed the fact that his team is ready to carry out the team order strategy in the MotoGP Portugal 2020. This was done in order to secure the MotoGP 2020 runner-up position for Rins.

Last week, Suzuki confirmed the 2020 MotoGP world title through Joan Mir. Now, they have the potential to seal the 1-2 position because Rins is still open to ending this season’s competition as runners-up.

Currently, Rins himself is third in the drivers standings with a collection of 138 points. The only obstacle for Rins to win the runner-up position is Franco Moribdelli who is currently in second place with a collection of 142 points.

With one race remaining at the Portimao Circuit, Portugal, Rins must maximize himself to be superior to Morbidelli. To make this happen, the Spanish passport racer may need a teammate.

The plan was even offered by Mir in front of the team manager, Davide Brivio. On the one hand, Rins will not reject the plan. He also will not hesitate to say thanks if his colleagues really want to provide assistance.

“We chatted at dinner with Joan and Davide, and Joan said if there was anything she could do to help then she would do it,” said Rins, quoting The Race, Friday (20/11/2020).

“But, in the end it was a rival and he wanted to beat me, and I understood that. But, let’s see what happens, “he added.

“I would thank him if he helped me, but even if he did not help me, I will thank him this year for all his hard work,” he continued.

“He was very fast this year and that has helped me to be fast too, because the first person you want to beat is your teammate,” he continued.

“When I have a bad time, I look at it and think ‘Joan is doing a great job, and I want to too’,” he concluded.
