England – Everton

Hit to an ankle during training, Lucas Digne, the left side of Everton and the France team, should be operated on and return to competition in 2021.

Lucas Digne is expected to be unavailable for the next two months. From English sources close to the player, the French international left-back (35 caps) suffered a big shock to an ankle during training with Everton this week. The first exams were not very reassuring and surgery was reportedly decided in the coming days.

At twenty-seven, Digne, vice-captain of the team coached by Carlo Ancelotti, had a very good start to the season with the Toffees, 6th in the Premier League, with notably two assists during the success at Fulham ( 3-2), Sunday.

He even passed Ferland Mendy (Real Madrid) in the hierarchy of French left-backs in the eyes of coach Didier Deschamps. However, he has time to recover: the next meeting at Clairefontaine takes place in March.
