Albania has emerged as the leading candidate for the next England League of Nations game against Iceland on November 18, if necessary.

The game is in doubt because of the UK government’s new travel ban on non-UK visitors coming from Denmark.

Iceland play Denmark three days ahead of Copenhagen before facing England on November 18 at Wembley Stadium.

If the ban persists, the Albanian Football Association is ready to provide a neutral venue.

The football association is waiting for the government to clarify, but is reviewing all options.

She has taken a preliminary approach towards her colleagues in Germany regarding the possibility of staging the game.

Top athletes have been exempt from travel restrictions related to corona viruses since June.

The restrictions on Denmark were implemented due to concerns about a new strain of coronavirus that has spread from the mink to humans.

The latest rules, which went into effect on Saturday at 4:00 a.m. GMT, will be reviewed after a week, the Department of Transportation said.

According to Uefa’s coronavirus protocols, international matches can be postponed at a time set by the European Football Association or played in a neutral location if necessary.

BBC Sport has been told that rescheduling is not an option. Uefa, which will make the final decision on where to choose a neutral venue, is believed to be investigating the matter.
