Édouard Roger-Vasselin qualified for the Masters doubles

It was enough for the Roger Vasselin-Melzer pair to reach the final in Sofia this Friday to qualify for the Masters to the detriment of the Murray-Skupski duo. As soon as the mission was fulfilled, the French and the Austrian took the first plane to London, where the Masters will be held from Sunday. They will therefore not contest the final in Bulgaria, leaving the title to … Murray and Skupski, little consolation.

After participating in 2014 alongside Julien Benneteau, this is the second time that Roger-Vasselin has qualified for the Masters. Semi-finalist in Dubai, Rome and Bercy, the Franco-Austrian pair won their first title in October in Saint Petersburg.

The other qualified teams are Ram-Salisbury (winners of the Australian Open), Pavic-Soares (US Open), Krawietz-Mies (Roland-Garros), Granollers-Zeballos, Koolhof-Mektic, Peers-Venus and Kubot- Melo. The draw will take place on Saturday at the O2 in London, after the Sofia final.
