The sports world mourns Diego Maradona. The Argentine football legend died of a heart attack on Wednesday around a month after his 60th birthday in his home country, as his lawyer confirmed. Maradona had recently been released from hospital after having had a blood clot removed from his brain.
Maradona was considered one of the best footballers in history. In 1986 the excellent technician led Argentina to the second world title in its history in Mexico. With SSC Napoli, Maradona won the Italian championship twice. After his active career, the Argentine was also team boss in his home country. Off the field, the eccentric superstar also made headlines through excessive drug and alcohol consumption.
