Chavar has four points and eight rebounds for “Tsmoki” victory in FIBA ​​CL

Klāvs Čavars stood out with four points and eight rebounds in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Champions League tournament game on Wednesday, but Tom Leimanis remained empty in the victory of the Minsk “Cmoki” team coached by Edmund Valeiko.

In their first game at home in Group C, Cmoki beat Cholet from France with 82:75 (19:17, 26:16, 16:19, 21:23).

Chavars went to the field for the main line-up, spending 20 minutes and three seconds there, during which he threw two of the three two-point shots. He also won eight rebounds, blocked an opponent’s shot once, made three mistakes, earned four personal notes and ended the game with nine efficiency points.

Leimanis played for only three minutes and 13 seconds, during which he missed the only three-point throw, occasionally bounced the ball and scored, as well as accumulated an efficiency factor of one.

Maxim Salašs was the top scorer with 20 points and seven rebounds, and 18 points for the guests in Gregor Hrovat’s account.

It has already been reported that on Tuesday Mārtiņš Laksa scored eight points in the Lublin “Start” D subgroup game, conceding with 75:84 (19:21, 13:23, 24:17, 19:23) to Sombathay’s “Falco Vulcano” and experiencing a second failure tournament.

“Start” with two losses in the group of four teams is the third, but “Nizhny Novgorod” has not left the field yet.

In the new season, the place in the main tournament was won by all the teams that were still fighting for the trophy last season. In total, 28 clubs, including “VEF Rīga”, won a place in next season’s main tournament. Four more clubs were identified in qualifying competitions.

The clubs will play six games in each group (three games – at home, three – away), with the two best teams in each group qualifying for the quarterfinals.

Twelve days of play will take place from October to January, with teams for one group scheduled every two weeks. The first games will take place from October 20 to 21.
