Brothers Dukuri and Steel will fight for PK medals on Sigulda track – Bobsleigh and skeleton – Winter sports

The start of the ladies’ competition is scheduled for 10.00, but the gentlemen will go on the track starting from 15.00.

18 skeletonists will take part in the women’s competition. The steel track will go with the seventh serial number.

19 athletes will start in the men’s competition. Tomass Dukurs will start with the fifth number, but Martins Dukurs will take the tenth.

“Of course we’re happy to compete,” Martin Dukur, who won his 55th World Cup last week, was quoted as saying by the International Bobsleigh and Skeleton Federation (IBSF).

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, fans are not allowed to attend the competition.

“Apart from the large number of fans here in Sigulda, of course, it is much different than usual, but we understand the situation. Thank you IBSF and everyone else who participates in the organization,” added the titled Latvian skeletonist.

Last week, Martins Dukurs won the first stage of the World Cup on the Sigulda track, the Germans Felix Kaizinger and Aleksandrs Gasners took the second place, and Thomas Dukurs won the fourth place.

Steel unexpectedly won a bronze medal last week, making its World Cup debut.
