Blazers close Carmelo Anthony renewal

Carmelo Anthony will continue his career in Portland. Journalist Shams Charania has announced that the player and the franchise have finalized a one-year agreement to extend their union during the 2020-21 season. Thus, the rumors that suggested a possible return to the Knicks fade.

Although his stay in the NBA had been questioned after his unsuccessful experiences in the Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets, this past season he managed to consolidate himself in the Portland Trail Blazers, being a fundamental pillar in Terry Stotts’ rotation.

“In my mind is to return the battle when the next season arrives,” said forward Anthony at the end of the game. Game 5 that supposed the elimination in the first round of playoffs at the hands of the Lakers. “I pray it can be with the Blazers, I think I’ve found a home in Portland,” he continued.
