Bibiana Steinhaus in an interview: “The nicest thing was the acceptance”

VBibiana Steinhaus, 41, ended her career as a referee a few weeks ago – she who made football history in 2017 because she was the first woman in Germany to lead a men’s first division game.

WORLD ON SUNDAY: You have decided not to be a referee anymore. How are you doing just a few weeks after making the decision?

Bibiana stone house: I am very, very well. The decision was well considered and matured over weeks. I am happy and very much to myself. At the same time, I’m surprised at the opportunities and perspectives that have opened up for me in the meantime, be it that I can continue working as a video assistant – not only nationally, but also internationally. For example, who would have thought that I would be used in a men’s match in the Europa League or the Champions League? Everything has its time in life. Now is the time for something new, for other things.
