Australian Open> Craig Tiley puts pressure on government: “Australian Open will inject millions of dollars directly into the economy”

Two months before the start of the 2021 edition of the Australian Open, its director, Craig Tiley, is doing everything to ensure that the event welcomes at least 25% of spectators compared to the initial capacity. The government of Victoria State would not be excited about this idea while the Covid-19 epidemic is still not under control. However, Tiley has his little idea to convince the leaders.

“In January, the Australian Open will inject millions of dollars directly into the economy for Melbourne and Victoria and play a major role in accelerating the economic recovery in the state. We can help the Victorian government, we can help other governments, but we also need help ”said the Australian Open boss who is pressing on the sensitive chord of money.
