The Aussac 2020 tennis tournament managed to pass between “the 2 waves”. We regret the cancellation of the closing ceremony on October 4, which is traditionally a convivial moment … but the organization promises you a double portion for next year. On the other hand, we can congratulate ourselves on the good progress of all the matches (in good sanitary conditions), the very high level of play, the large number of participants (26 men) and the presence of new faces coming to challenge the regulars. . All are expected next year.
As for the Gentlemen’s competition, it is the new comeback of Sébastien Combet with a 5th victory in 23 participations.
But Teddy Baert, the unfortunate finalist, should return highly motivated in 2021. Congratulations also to Jérome Sire, the surprise of the tournament, for his good career which brought him to the semi-finals just like Arnaud Enguilabert for his first participation.
Special mention to the youth with the victory of Timéo Bugarel in consoling Gentlemen. Jean Rodière had to bow to Timéo’s offensive play. Undoubtedly, Timéo is expected as a major player in the main draw from next year to push towards the exit of the seventies.
Among the Ladies, it was Marie-Pierre Soulié who took the upper hand over the local Christine Guibaud, in the consoling table.
