This day Patrick Mouratoglou posted a tweet which exactly reflects the atmosphere he reveals today in the world of tennis. A lot of uncertainties, but also a lot of envy because even if the pandemic still exists, it is less virulent. The few words of Serena Williams’ coach are therefore instructive and pragmatic: “The season is over. The time to prepare for the 2021 one has already started but we do not really know when it will begin. This portends a lot of stress and crazy moments for the players of the tour ”.
Patrick is right. While December is the month to prepare well for the new season, to this day no one can say when the tour will begin. Which logically poses a problem for all coaches in the world. Anyway with the restrictions and the quarantine it will not be before the end of January and probably with as a starting point: the Australian Open.
Until then, there may also be “alternatives” that can be put in place, particularly in the Middle East, which normally always hosts beautiful exhibitions during the holidays.
