2 tournaments for badminton players from Collège Notre-Dame

Wolf River – Badminton players from Collège Notre-Dame were present in two tournaments at the end of last week. Here are the main results of these two competitions.

Provincial Black Knight Tournament in Charny

For this tournament, 12 representatives of the College were present. Among the youngest in mixed doubles, Mathias Labrie and Sylvia Elaffi (West Island) lost in the semi-final. At the cadet level, in women’s singles. Catherine Hodgson lost in the consolation final. In juveniles, in women’s singles, Monica Patry won the consolation final, while in women’s doubles, Monica and Virginie Savard lost in the semi-final. In mixed doubles, Olivier Morin and Monica Patry advanced to the quarterfinal round.

Regional school tournament in Rimouski

The Notre-Dame College was represented by 30 athletes for this tournament. Among the youngest, in men’s singles, note the victory of Mathieu Dumont against Pierre Caillouette. In men’s doubles, Mathieu Dumont and Édouard Proulx won against Antoine D’Amours and Pierre Caillouette. Finally in women’s doubles, Laurie Pruneau and Myriam Sirois lost in the final. In the cadets, in women’s singles, Mélissa Ouellet lost in the final while in the women’s doubles, Mélissa Ouellet and Anne-Frédérique April lost in the final.

In juveniles, in women’s singles, Roxanne Villemure lost in the semi-final. In women’s doubles: Roxanne Villemure and Audrey Soucy-Rouleau win the final. In men’s doubles, Jonathan Sirois and Patrick Darveau (Rivière-du-Loup high school) won the final.
