Week 7 Winners – 2020 NFL Season • First and Ten

This time around in the week 7 winners we have performances worth mentioning, some even from players whose teams did not win. Today for example we had a player who looks better and better despite his age and another who despite his young age shows improvement in each performance.

These are the winners of week 7 of the 2020 NFL season.

Pittsburgh Steelers

I wanted to see the Steelers beat a team considered among the best of the moment and they did. While this team has shown moments of relaxation at the end of their matches, it has finally shown me that they are a solid opponent for anyone and that they have the ability to pick up the pace with a calendar that looks favorable. The offense was dominant, having the correct play for each situation, executing well and dominating the rival. Their defense kept Derrick Henry under 100 yards and put the pressure on Ryan Tannehill who was slow to find his rhythm.

True, they could have been tied at the end, but to say that that would have led to defeat is a mere assumption. The reality is that right now they are the only serious and undefeated team to compete not only in their division, but for a spot in Super Bowl LV.

QB Baker Mayfield – Browns

Coming from a week in which he was criticized for his poor performance against a good defense that hit him as much as he wanted and could, it was time to return to the path of victory hand in hand with a good performance. And so it was, Mayfield shone in a divisional game, tough, back and forth and that thanks to him remained closed and contested. Some will say it was the Bengals, a rival who is trying to get out of the worst places in the league, but there is something different about them this year and his name is Joe Burrow, who seems the favorite to take the offensive rookie of the year nomination.

And faced with an unspectacular performance from his running game, Mayfield shouldered the team to finish with five touchdown passes, the last at the end of the game the Browns won, and nearly 300 passing yards. That’s the QB Cleveland requires to get out of the “eternal” hole they got into many, many years ago.

DE Myles Garrett – Browns

Another Browns player on this list and he’s a Defensive Player of the Year favorite. Garrett finished the afternoon with two sacks and caused a turnover to add to the road win. Today he is the league leader in sacks to the QB and since week 2 he has not stopped capturing the rival QB on at least one occasion. The pace he brings is impressive and if he continues like this, we could be talking about him achieving the all-time record for sacks in one season. I am sure that we will continue to speak of him in a positive way throughout this year.

QB Tom Brady – Buccaneers

43 years? Does matters. Tom Brady continues to show himself to be a reliable QB, with a precise arm and to show is the pass he threw to Scott Miller in the end zone, and that ended up throwing another three touchdown passes to finish with four and 369 yards without an interception. . This helped the Buccaneers come out with a comfortable win at the end even though for some point in the game it got close.

Doubts about whether Brady could be successful with a new team are dissipating and today he puts Tampa Bay on the radar as one of the teams to beat in the National Conference. If they continue to improve and it appears that will happen with the addition of Antonio Brown, the Bucs could be the first team to play at home in a Super Bowl.

By the way, he’s already the all-time TD passing leader with 559 passing Drew Brees right now.
