At 41 years old, already hunting for his 200th podium, to Valentino Rossi has come up with another obstacle in the way: a positive for coronavirus which leaves him out of the next two races, which are held at the Motorland Aragón circuit.

This has been confirmed by the pilot himself on his social networks, confined to his home since they left the French Grand Prix, where he fell on the third lap.

“Unfortunately, this morning I woke up and I was not feeling well. My bones ached and I had a slight fever. I called the doctor right away and they did two tests. Rapid PCR came back negative, like the test I passed on Thursday. But the second, the result of which reached me this afternoon at four o’clock, is unfortunately positive, “explains the Italian.

«I am very sorry to have to be absent from the races in Aragon. I would like to be optimistic and confident, but I think that for the second race at Motorland it will also be a ‘no fit’ ”, he continues.

“I am sad and angry because I have done my best to respect the rules and the protocol and although the test on Thursday was negative, I confined myself as soon as I got back from Le Mans. Anyway, this is what it is and I can’t do anything to change the situation. I will follow the medical instructions and hope to feel well soon.
