Jakarta

The Indonesian U-19 national team called two new players to Croatia. They are Kelana Noah Mahesa and Luah Fynn Jeremy who are German-Indonesian blood.

Kelana Noah and Luah have joined the U-19 National Team Training Center in Croatia since Monday (19/10/2020) yesterday. The two players were brought in by PSSI at the wish of Shin Tae-yong.

The ability of these two players to monitor their abilities and suitability to defend the U-19 national team which will appear in the 2020 U-19 Asian Cup and the 2021 U-20 World Cup.

“I invited these two players to come to Croatia because I wanted to see their quality firsthand,” said Shin Tae-yong in a PSSI release.

“The consideration of bringing these two players to Croatia is because the distance from their country (Germany) is not too far here (Croatia),” he added.

Shin Tae-yong has indeed expressed his desire to see the abilities of players of Indonesian descent abroad. Some of them have been summoned and joined earlier in the U-19 Indonesian national team, namely Jack Brown and Elkan Baggott.

He refused to summon naturalized players who had no blood ties to Indonesia. The South Korean coach only wants to form a competitive U-19 national team with a composition of local players and players of descent.

“There are a number of descendants of players who I want to see firsthand their abilities, but only these two players have been able to go to Croatia. Maybe we will summon during the next training camp (TC) while waiting for developments,” said Shin Tae-yong.

Noah is 19 years old and was born on January 30, 2001. While Luah Fynn Jeremy Mahesa is 18 years old and was born on July 30, 2002.

Both are brothers and sisters who are registered as members of the Bonner SC club which competes in Regionalliga West or the fourth caste of football competitions in Germany. Both Kelana Noah and Luah have tried their luck in Indonesia by taking part in the selection at Persela Lamongan in August 2019.

“I am very happy to receive an invitation from coach Shin Tae-yong to participate in training with the U-19 national team at TC Croatia. I want to be part of this team, it’s not easy but I will fight,” said Noah.

In the U-19 Indonesia national team match against Hajduk Split, Tuesday (20/10), which kicked off at 16.00 WIB, Kelana Noah was immediately played as a starter. Luah is also on the line-up, but will have to wait for the opportunity to appear off the bench ..
