Top insider rebuts 3-player Lakers-Pacers trade

Like all teams that have just won the title, the Lakers could look to bolster their roster if the opportunity arises. Still, they would have no interest in arguing with the Pacers about one of their top players, according to a reputable reporter.

How to improve a workforce which comfortably dominated the Western Conference in the regular season, and which has just been crowned champion after a well-run playoffs? This is the question that must be asking Rob Pelinka and his assistants, as the trading market should soon be agitated in the NBA.

The arrival of a third big name to support LeBron James and Anthony Davis could be an answer of choice, but the stars available and affordable are rare on the market. A player still meets this description, and would seem able to integrate alongside the two stars on paper: Victor Oladipo.

The tendency would thus be to a departure from the back of the Pacers, and a team that would have their favors would consider letting the matter go. The path therefore seems ready for the Angelinos, as Tim Bontemps suggests in the last episode of the Hoop Collective. His colleague Brian Windhorst is not so enthusiastic about the trade mentioned.

Tim Bontemps: Vic ‘will only get $ 21 million next season, so it’s easier for the Lakers to hit that number. So they could put Danny Green, Kyle Kuzma and a pick from the 1st round…

Brian Windhorst : It’s too much. Finally, I don’t think I would give up on Danny Green AND Kyle Kuzma.

If one asked the opinion of the Laker Nation, a majority would certainly go against the insider and would sign up immediately to see this exchange happen. Windhorst nevertheless remains skeptical about Oladipo’s current level, and about his ability to once again become the potential All-Star he was. If they do not share this opinion, the Lakers will have to act quickly, because big contenders for the Indiana player risk being pressed.

For Brian Windhorst, a Danny Green-Kyle Kuzma package would be too expensive to pay for the services of a Victor Oladipo whose star status might be history. Certainly some fans of the franchise wouldn’t be so picky.
