Tiger Woods stays far behind

Despite being closely followed by Jon Rahm and Lanto Griffin, Justin Thomas managed to stay ahead of the PGA ZOZO Championship with a third round of 67 (-5).

For his part, Tiger Woods could not do a miracle, Saturday, in Thousand Oaks in California, and remained far behind, in 68th place.

Thomas finished the day strong, setting two birdies on his last three holes to bring his cumulative total to 197 (-19).

He momentarily gave up the lead during the day to Jon Rahm, who had an impressive round of 63 (-9). The Spaniard jumped 20 places in the standings, scoring an eagle and seven birdies. With a record of 198 (-18), he is only one stroke behind Thomas.

Griffin was also in the game to wrest the leader from Thomas, but a bug on the last pennant kept him from doing it. With his card of 68 (-4), he brought his tally to 199 (-17) and is now two headers away.

For his part, Woods had to settle for a 71 (-1) round after registering three birdies and two bogeys. With a cumulative score of 213 (-3), he is 16 strokes off the top.

Ontarian Corey Conners is still the top Canadian after three rounds. He is 20th, seven strokes behind Thomas. Ontarian Mackenzie Hughes is 36th, 10 heads-up.

Finally, Manitoban Nick Taylor is 48th and Saskatchewanian Adam Hadwin is 64th.

MacDonald always first

On the women’s tour, Ally MacDonald held onto the top of the LPGA Drive On Championship in Greensboro, Ga with a third round of 69 (-3)

With a 203 (-13) record and one round to go, the American is just one step ahead of Bianca Pagdanganan of the Philippines. The latter also finished the day with a score of 69 (-3).

American Danielle Kang slipped to third after a third round of 70 (-2) and is two strokes behind MacDonald.

The day was also marked by a hole-in-one from Austin Ernst on the fourth, a par 3. The American closed the course with a card of 67 (-5).

For her part, Ontarian Alena Sharp dropped from 12th to 24th after playing 73 (+1) on Saturday. With a cumulative 212 (-4), she is nine strokes behind the leader.
