These two former riders compactly admit that MotoGP 2020 is more attractive without Marc Marquez

KOMPAS.com – Former MotoGP riders Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo compactly called the 2020 season an interesting one without Marc Marquez.

Marc Marquez has been absent from the eight series of MotoGP 2020 races due to a broken right arm injury.

The racer nicknamed The Baby Alien suffered a single accident in the opening series of the MotoGP 2020 in Spain, 19 July.

As a result, Marc Marquez had to undergo a long recovery. The Repsol Honda team announced that at least Marc Marquez must undergo recovery for two to three months.

The racer from Spain is likely to return to action in the last series of the season, namely the Portuguese MotoGP on November 22.

The absence of Marc Marquez makes the 2020 MotoGP competition even more open. This was evidenced by the six riders who had won the MotoGP 2020 until the eighth series.

The six riders are Fabio Quartararo (GP of Spain, Andalusia, Catalunya), Brad Binder (GP of the Czech Republic), Andrea Dovizioso (GP of Austria), Miguel Oliveira (GP Styria), Franco Morbidelli (GP San Marino), and Maverick Vinales (GP Emilia Romagna).

The absence of Marc Marquez is also recognized to make the 2020 MotoGP competition even more interesting.

This was revealed by two former MotoGP riders who are now becoming test rider, Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo.

“It shows that without Marc (Marquez), the chances of other riders are greater,” said the former Repsol Honda racer.

Pedrosa, who is currently a test rider for the KTM team, admitted that Marc Marquez would still be a occupant of the podium if he did not suffer an injury.

“He will be a permanent racer on the podium, as usual. However, next to him are two other riders who are on the podium,” said the 35-year-old man.

“When Marc is there, it is more difficult to get a win. Without him, there is still good competition,” he concluded.

Dani Pedrosa’s statement was also shared by Jorge Lorenzo, who is now a person test rider for the Yamaha team.

“I think almost any factory team can win the current race. Apart from Aprilia, they are not far from the podium and the victory,” said Lorenzo.

“I have said since his first year in MotoGP, that he (Marc Marquez) is very talented. He is able to improve his weaknesses every year. He has been very strong for the last few years,” said Jorge Lorenzo.

Meanwhile, MotoGP 2020 is preparing to hold the ninth series in France. The French MotoGP will be held at the Bugatti Circuit this weekend on 9-10 October 2020.
