The Warrior Who Impresses Everyone in Training

Golden State Of Mind (DR)

The Warriors have been decimated this season by injuries. Back in the foreground next year, they will need all their strength: that’s good, a player made a strong impression at training camp.

Now is the time to score points for the Warriors. With a workforce devastated by injuries this season, young people like Jordan Poole, Eric Paschall or Alen Smailagic have had time to develop by gaining playing time. Unfortunately, the coronavirus then went through there and deprived them of ‘twenty matches to continue to prove themselves.

This does not mean that they have spared their efforts. The Warriors will not be back on the court until 2021 a priori, and they are already back in training while waiting for the start of the next season. Klay Thompson is also in the game, with his strange habitual behavior.

But the most encouraging sign of recent times according to Steve Kerr, it concerns another player: Kevon Looney.

What strikes me the most is that Kevon Looney is in good health, moves very well and feels great. This is probably the best news of all coming out of (training) camp.

There is something to feel reassured, indeed. The young interior has often joined the long list of players in the infirmary this season. Of the 65 games played by the Warriors, Looney missed 45. The little playing time he had, 262 minutes throughout the season, did not allow him to shine. This time, the player seems well recovered and says it himself:

The last time I felt this good was probably at the start of my third season, so about two years ago. Throughout last year and at the end of my fourth year, I had to deal with a few injuries. Now I feel like I can put all of these injuries behind me.

I feel good. I can run freely. I no longer have to worry about watching my steps, like the groin injury. I can just go out there and have fun and really enjoy basketball.

As good news never comes alone, it turns out that the Warriors are always looking to get stronger in Position 5. What if Kevon Looney was done with injuries and finally seized his chance?
