The territorial badminton finals are held in El Campello

More than 100 players from the Valencian Community, Murcia and Castilla La Mancha gathered at the El Campello municipal pavilion, with an organizational success, scrupulously following the health protocol imposed by COVID. A good day with very good matches, which ended with the delivery of trophies presided over by the acting mayor, Julio Oca, and the president of the Valencian Badminton Federation, Ferrán Feliu.A, we congratulated the El Campello Badminton Club for the organization, which was perfect.

Sub11: Individual male, champion Raúl Hernández, from Infante (Murcia), and runner-up Elías Ivaras from Teulada. Women’s individual, champion Martina Molina (Xàtiva), and Ibi Club runner-up. Doubles, champions Diego Gázquez and Elias Ivars (Teulada), and runners-up Martina Molina and Feliu Terol, from Xàtiva.

Sub13: Individual male, champion Vicent Ivars (Teulada), and runner-up Rubén Martínez (Infante). Individual female, champion Sara Ramón (Xàtiva), and runner-up Sara Llopis (Aspe). Mixed doubles, champions Sara Ramón and Ximo Torres (Xàtiva), and runners-up Leitza Olmos and Peio Olmos (San Fernando de Valencia). Men’s doubles, Simón Coloma and Vicent Ivars (San Fernando clubs in Valencia and Teulada) and runners-up Felix Sanz and Lucas Valles (clubs in Aspe and Teulada).

Sub15: Individual male, champion Juan Pablo de Siano (Teulada), and runner-up Rubén Pedreño (Cartagena). Individual female, champion Sara Sáez (Drop Valencia) and runner-up Lucía Jerez (Drop Toledo). Mixed doubles, champions Sara Sáez and Quique Gil (Drop Valencia) and runners-up Andrea Orquín and Jesús Cimas (Xàtiva). Men’s doubles, champions Juan Pablo de Siano and Pau Muñoz (Teulada and San Fernando de Valencia Clubs), and runners-up Mateo Fernández and Miguel Payà (El Campello club). Women’s doubles, champions Sofía Fernández and Lucía Jerez (Clubs Burgillos and Drop Toledo), and runners-up Nuria Martínez and Elena Muñoz (Clubs Enguera and San Fernando de Valencia).

Sub 17: Men’s individual, champion Nikita Nikitin (Cartagena) and runner-up Sergio Juárez (Enguera). Women’s individual: champion Inés Costero and runner-up Isabel Díaz (both from the Alicante Club). Mixed doubles: champions Liliya Nikitina and Nikita Nikitin (Cartagena), and runners-up María Sanz and Adrián Ramón (Xàtiva). Men’s doubles: champions Martín Vicente Alonso and Guillermo Catalá (Club San Fernando of Valencia) and runners-up Ruben Duro and Carlos Gil (Clubs of Alicante and Aspe). Women’s doubles: champions María Isabel Gil and Elena Payà (Clubs of Aspe and El Campello) and runners-up Inés Costero and Isabel Díaz (Club of Alicante).

Sub 19: Individual male, champion Natxo Cervelló (Club de Xàtiva), and runner-up Jorge Jerez (Toledo). Individual female: Champion Llucia Vázquez (Club San Fernando de Valencia) and runner-up Yanitsa Valentinova (Club de Enguera). Mixed doubles: Campones Llucia Vazquez and Carles Margaix (Club San Fernando de Valencia) and runners-up Alejandra Inga Espinosa and Gustavo Garzo (Club de Cartagena). Men’s Doubles: Champions Natxo Cervelló and Jorge Jerez (Clubs de Xàtiva and Drop Toledo) and runners-up Alfredo Gomis and Carles Margaix (Club San Fernando de Valencia)

As a summary of the participation of players from El Campello, Mateo Fernández and Miguel Payà were runners-up in doubles in the sub-15 category (one higher than their age). In their individual draws, both were second after winning 2 of the 3 matches, a result that did not allow them to go to the quarterfinals.

Elena Payà was a doubles champion in the U17 category (one higher than her age). In individual, Elena reached the semifinals, where she lost 3 sets against the player Inés Costero (Alicante club), who was finally the winner of the category.
